Job Summary

Under general direction, the Audio/Video Conferencing and Home Automation Specialist performs as a top-level technical expert across multiple areas of the infrastructure profile. They act independently or as a member of a project team responsible for providing technical leadership concerning implementation of Audio/Video Conferencing technology solutions and home automation in the office. Audio/Video Conferencing and Home Automation Specialists are responsible for administering Audio/Video Conferencing and Home Automation infrastructure. They provide technical vision, architecture and support. Coordinate with third-party vendors to set-up and test systems while ensuring inter-operability with voice systems and peripheral telecommunications equipment. Acts as a technical subject matter expert and technical liaison for home automation, audio and video conferencing infrastructure, and collaboration initiatives. Designs and implements standards, processes and complimentary services that facilitate business agility, and the efficient use of technology investments. Plan and schedule project deliverables, goals, and milestones. Experience in deployment and managing Video Conferencing Infrastructure across offices interconnected with dedicated MPLS and VPN Tunnels.


Required Education / Experience

  • Experience working in area of discipline:
    • SIP, PSTN, H323, L2 and L3 networking and QoS Policies in a Cisco environment
  • Microsoft Skype for business, MCSE, MCTS, or similar
  • Vidyo VCDSE or similar certifications
  • Polycom PCVE or similar certifications
  • Experience with other technologies common to logistics and oil industry


Primary Responsibilities & Scope

  • Knowledge of information technology at a level normally acquired through completion of an Associates or Bachelor's degree with concentration in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience in information technology including working knowledge of ITIL best practices and demonstrated experience with implementing and operating systems within these frameworks
  • 3+ years working as an Audio or Video Specialist or Administrator
  • 3+ years’ experience managing audio/video conferencing technology
  • Experience with home automation and familiar with industry leading technologies
  • Ability to effectively communicate to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to communicate appropriately to all levels of the organization
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Advanced working knowledge of various technologies within areas of discipline
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in technical writing, technical research and technical project management
  • Skills in Project Management
  • Ability to manage and deliver multiple project phases at the same time, and being able to manage ongoing operational issues with longer term strategic work
