Role Description:

The basic function of the “Fabrication Project Engineer/Estimator” is to define the requirements, provide budgets and successfully coordinate the execution jobs/projects. It is also a major function of this person to coordinate the procurement of materials as well as outside contractors.

  • Properly plan jobs/project for maximum efficiency and quality.
  • Prepares estimates and quotes for customers.
  • Purchase and schedule delivery of Materials and Outside Contractors to meet the requirements of the jobs/projects assigned.
  • Communicate with customer, as required, to ensure all work is performed to customer’s expectations.
  • Provide assistance with planning and execution of jobs/projects.
  • Advises on the manufacturing and processing of all fabricated products at the most economical costs (i.e. manpower, materials, etc.) consistent with prescribed quality, delivery and customer service expectations.
  • Reports obsolescence of equipment and facilities and submits recommendations regarding replacements or improvements including cost data on return on capital outlay.
  • Participates in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual departmental planning processes as appropriate.
  • Fosters a cooperative and harmonious working climate, conducive to maximizing employee morale and productivity.

  • Education/Experience/Certifications:

    To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following education, experience, or certifications are preferred:


    • Must have a college Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or the equivalent in practical and specialized training.


    • Prior knowledge/experience in fabrication and/or machining process.
    • Possess experience in working with manufacturing based technology.
