A CNC Machining shop is currently seeking a General Manager for a direct hire opportunity located in west Michigan.


Conduct and manage the daily operations of the CNC machining and lathe facility for an established west Michigan based company, whose customers are in the aerospace, medical, automotive and furniture industries.  Since its inception, many decades ago, the company has provided customers with high quality products in the industries it serves with focused attention on meeting the demanding schedules of its customers.  The Company is ISO 9001:2008, AS9100:2009 (Rev. C) Quality Assurance Program certified, ITAR approved and FDA registered. The Company has 50 employees and runs three shifts seven days a week.


• Full P&L Responsibility
• Business acumen
• Assure the shop floor runs efficiently and meets required delivery and quality targets
• Coordinate workload and capacity planning
• Oversee inventories and purchasing
• Direct estimating and purchasing input as required
• Maintain customer relations and sales
• Develop necessary CNC programming capabilities
• Oversee Quality Control Department
• Oversee the Safety Program
• Supervising Plant Foremen and plant employees; conduct performance review of Foreman and monitoring performance of all plant employees
• Conducting planning meetings for job kick-offs, hold daily Foreman meetings, handle any process (re) evaluation meetings
• Conducting quarterly employee meetings communicating plant status on safety, quality and productivity
• Fine-tuning manufacturing processes and finding solutions for process adjustments
• Scheduling production flow through the plant
• Managing operations in line with Company policy and procedures on a consistent basis
• Directing the Quality Control department to resolve quality concerns
• Directing the Estimating to ensure bid productions and actual plant productions are aligned
• Ensuring compliance with environmental standards
• Interviewing, hiring and training new employees


• Strong leader driven to provide quality products in a timely manner
• Extensive knowledge of all phases of CNC machining and lathe operations
• Skilled understanding of estimating and quoting of CNC machining/turning
• Good organization skills
• Quality supervisory experience
• Experienced knowledge of CNC programming and CNC machining
• High School Diploma (or equivalent) or College Degree
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in CNC Machining and Turning Operations
• Strong numerical/mathematical skills
• Good computer skills (Excel, Word and Scheduling)
