Role Summary/Purpose

This role is responsible for the for the execution and leadership of projects including scheduling
and tracking of material, resources and financial transactions to meet schedule and margin targets
for process projects, focusing on complex Manufacturing Execution System projects. Additional
responsibilities include communication with the customer, sales account manager, 3rd party
vendors and commercial resources and providing status and financial reports

Essential Responsibilities

  • Own project performance regarding schedule, quality technical execution and financial
    expectations per proposal, cost sheet, specification, etc.
  • Define project scope and estimation.
  • Control contract scope and initiation / management of change orders
  • Lead internal material, software, and license management
  • Lead project scheduling including kickoff, design, implementation, installation, testing, start-up,
  • Lead integration of internal resource scheduling with the project schedule; participate in
    organizational-level resource planning to plan for and resolve resource demand. Lead third party
    material and resource management, including generation and administration of purchase orders.
  • Monitor time submittals, equipment deliveries, 3rd party participation and interface with the
    commercial team with regard to invoicing
  • Insure milestone compliance with regard to technical requirements, schedule, etc.
  • Drive use of existing product capability, driving standardization, limiting customization, and
    maximizing reuse of content developed for previous solutions
  • Drive the development and use of repeatable solutions with focus on reusable templates and
    time to value
  • Coordinate and lead progress meetings with customer and business leadership (financial,
    technical, issue/risk updates, etc.)
  • Interact with Product Development Team, Commercial Team, Customers, Solution Providers
    (Partner / Integrators), and other cross-functional teams as required for the solution and implement
    processes to ensure best use of GEIP products and services to meet project requirements
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with peers and team members as an
    inclusive leader, supporting pre-sale strategy, Services consulting efforts, and project execution
  • Ensure compliance with the Project Management Office and associated processes and
  • Ensure team is EHS compliant
  • Minimize GE Digital exposure and risk on projects
  • Maintain & continuously update technical skills and knowledge
  • Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Software, Electrical, Computer or comparable engineering discipline from
    an accredited university or college (or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum 4 additional
    years of experience in engineering position)
  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel a minimum of 30% of the time domestically/internationally

    Desired Characteristics

  • Strong exposure to software solutions for Advanced manufacturing, factory automation
  • Experience with Automotive, Appliances or similar high speed discrete manufacturing
  • Formal training/certification in Project Management desired
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Master Black Belt desired
  • Experience gathering customer input and translating to system requirements
  • Experience with financial goal setting and reporting
  • Strong business acumen in a technical environment
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new software development practices, languages, and tools
  • Experience in software development with Microsoft Visual Studio / Development tools and C#
  • Experience with Windows, .NET, SQL databases, Web Services and SOA technologies
  • Experience with enterprise software and large distributed systems
  • Experience with development in an ISO-certified environment
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues and independently develop solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, a team player, with ability to energize
